I'm motivated and will continue working on solo'n incorporating various techniques and scales.  My focus for these tracks was the A minor pentatonic scale

man ladybass can play. Makes me what to use the Schector as firewood. Ummm on second thought I'd just sell it first.... I'm not doing that either.

Alright, here's my version with solo. It's a little sloppy. Kinda did it in between working on some new gig tunes.

come on DW!! sloppy??? i was hyped when i heard that. you mind if i put that on my mp3 player and study it. that was just awesome.

here's my take on it. i had only the drum track so i put that extra chording on that sounds similar in the background.

+2 on your comment to DW!!  DW that was sweet, man!!!   I like what you did with that backing bassline too ... what kinda effect did you put on that?    How do you personally approach solo'n?

Floaded .. I like the chording & that pause in the drumloop too   .... now I have 2 new tunes for my mp3 player   ;D

I used a Zoom 506II effects pedal. I don't know what the patch is called but it's basically some sort of envelope filter and an octave effect together. As for how I approach soloing.......I use a 'vocal' approach. I just try to form a melody of some type. I don't use a theory (scales, modes, etc.) approach at all. I owe that to your bassline though. It really is funky and inspired me a lot. I think you really should go for a full production. Lyrics and all.

God bless.

i just have the line out from my combo amp plugged in to the line in jack on the back of my computer (you need a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter) and i use a program called Audacity. its a free opensource audio editor/recorder (not shareware, so dont worry about paying to get full version) just google it and download it.

all i do is just import the file and just hit record and start playing. you can adjust the levels or add effects or even add/record another track to it.

just listened to it. this is a very smooth and nice groove, you can do a lot with this bassline especially solos.  I'm going to have fun with this one. :)
