Time will tell.
Indeed.  I'm certainly looking forward to it.  You know, as we get deeper into the playoffs, I'm actually liking the idea of the Magic winning it all.  At first, I really wanted LeBron to win it because he is such a good player and has really elevated the level of play of his teammates.  But, I wouldn't mind seeing Howard win.  I think then he will come out of Shaq's shadow.  I still think his offensive game could use much improvement.  He has the potential to dominate to the degree I haven't seen since Shaq was in his prime.  But, I think he has the agility to be even more of a weapon than Shaq if he hones in his skills.  I see his potential being something like a Shaq/Hakeem mix.  The power of Shaq and the finesse of Hakeem.  Can you imagine if Howard further improves his drop-step, his fade away, his overall range AND combines that with his power?????  I shudder just thinking about it.

That's a pretty bold statement.  Hakeem is one of the most skilled big men I've seen.

Magic has what it takes to win at all. As bad as I want Lakers to repeat I just can't see it even though its highly possible.

Hence the use of the word "potential".  Not sure if he'll ever develop his game to that level.  But, it sure would be a thing of beauty to see it come to fruition.

How bout a 32 point defeat of the Cavs?  :o

And I bet Cavs win in Boston and this goes to 7 games like I predicted......lol! Maybe I'll be wrong.  :-\ :D ;D

Rest can equate to rust but with Orlando, they only play one style of ball. So if their shooters are off, it wouldn't matter if they have 2 days or 2 months rest. I can see if they had a half-court game where timing and cutting is involved, but we all know that they will feed the post, wait for the double team, kick it back out and someone is going to launch. Other than that, they'll just let Nelson run. There's no execution element to their offense, so there will be no rust. Just a 48 minute shoot-a-round.

...rest can equate to rust but the great thing about Coach Stan is that he has his team on the go from day 1 of rest.  Dwight and Jameer both have stated that they rather play the games vs. practicing because their practices are intense.  It was just the other day when M. Pietrus rolled his ankle during practice and Stan got on the team about it.  They'll be ready.

...For Orlando to truly dominate, Vince Carter has got to start driving the lane which I know he will and you all will see.  I really think you'll see a lot more of Brandon Bass in Round 3 too.  It will be a physical round that's for sure.  The key for Orlando is Dwight Howard staying out of Foul trouble and Matt Barnes keeping his cool.

...btw, I'm so tired of hearing about last years Magic team.  This years Magic team blows right past last years.  We can have Rashard Lewis and Vince Carter have an off night and we still have plenty of shooters to make shots.  Its scary!

...Lebron James did a disappearing act in Cleveland last night.  Kids and stats will probably state he's the greatest player to ever play the game but he still doesn't have that eye that a lot of us are used to seeing and have seen.  The eye of continuous hunger to be great.  The attitude that rubs off on your teamates and causes them to want to be great and give 120% night after night.  After last night's game, I'm happy he's taking off #23 and going to #6 next year.  ;)

 ?/?

MVP season.  He's gotten better every year in the league.

These things don't just happen.  I don't think there's any question about his hunger.

As good as Lebron is, I believe the media and fans crowned him too early. King James really? He hasn't proved anything. That's why Scott Van Pelt took his throne in that SC commercial. :D
It reminds me of Iverson's (The Answer) nickname; He didn't prove anything either.

He is what they say he is.  He has proven that he's one of the, if not THE best player in the league.  Personally, I think there's more to the elbow issue than he's letting on.  It's very unlike him to be as passive as he was throughout game 5.  Something's definitely up.

At one point McGrady, Vince and AI were all deemed the best in the league. If Lebron is King, he should have a ring  :-\. To me Kobe is still on top til he gets knocked down. I do agree that there has to be something else wrong with LBJ.

I don't recall a time when any of those guys were the concensus best at any point in their careers.  Most exciting perhaps.  The year after Jordan retired the Spurs won and Tim Duncan was considered the best.  Not long after Kobe really took that over.

And yes, Lebron has taken that role from Kobe.

And no, you don't have to win a championship to be the best.  That's Vulcan Logic at it's worst.

Here's the deal.  Lebron is the best player in the NBA *who hasn't won a championship*.

Kobe is the best player in the NBA who have won a championship.

Only one way to remove them asteriks baby.

Put it like this. Kobe won't give Phoenix and/or the media a chance to dog him like they are doing LBJ today. The only reason I feel that Kobe's still at the top is because LBJ hasn't developed a winner's mentality. He doesn't have that killer instinct. When/If he ever gets that, will be the day he takes the top spot.
