My Newest Baby
« on: August 30, 2007, 08:10:44 PM »
Here she is, my new fav guitar by far. Xtone Paramount PC2, made by ESP. Semi-Hollow, Bigsby, Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro Humbuckers. Can't say enough about how good of a guitar this is. Not an imperfection to be found, great frets, aboslutely smokin tone. The first close up shot where the color looks more brown is the closer to the real color, for some reason it looks alot more red in the other pics.

I'm-a liking that! I loves me some Bigsby.

I will eventually own a semi-hollow. Always loved them,

hard to explain how unique of a tone it is.....not nearly as deep as an LP, really really cuts, but it's not really "bright"....definitely a woody tone, if that makes sense.

yeah, i love the Bigsby....it's so subtle, really adds something....I use it way more than i do a regular trem. Obviously pretty touchy tuning-wise, but it's definitely worth it.

You know, my cousin has tried all that stuff for tuning stability on his strat (big bends nut sauce, etc.) and he swears by WD40  :o

I saw a can on his nightstand the other day, and I was like... "umm... Todd... what's the WD doing in the bedroom?"

He explained that he uses it on the saddles and nut when he changes strings.

Who woulda thought?

Can't do that on a Floyd, though... defeats the purpose lol

It's worth a shot--can't really hurt anything.

yeah, i have some of the big bends stuff, also some weird lubricant someone suggested in another forum. the tuning thing isn't a big issue, i just usually have to check in between songs, just to be safe, because if i've used the bigsby alot it will usualy have pulled a string or two a little bit sharp. it's usually within the acceptable range on a tuner, but i can still hear it.

jlynn...how do you upload pictures?

it's easiest to host them at a site like www.photobucket.com and then you just copy the img.tag into your message.

There's this local Schecter Corsair at Lake Charles Music I've always wanted. List price for 600 but man it plays like it was sent down from heaven or something. Just fits my style perfectly.

Man, you were right, that is a nice couch  ;)

Good looking Fender, man. Glad you're enjoying it. Y'all are giving me new guitar fever... have to wait a year or so, though.

I've been shopping around for an acoustic/electric (probably Ibanez), but with all of the strat talk, I might jump ahead in my schedule and buy the Deluxe Players' Strat first! My list is: Acoustic/Electric, Strat, Semi-Hollowbody. In that order...

I forgot to mention that I think satin black is my favorite color right now--cars, guitars, furniture... I'd say ladies, too, but my wife would hit me with an iron skillet... j/k

A satin black iron skillet, no doubt.  ;D
