YOU BET IT IS DEEPER, THIS PERSON CHOOSES TO SING WHEN SHE WANTS TO (SOLOS)NO MATTER WHAT THE DIRECTOR SAYS. SHE HAS DONE THIS THREE SUNDAYS STRAIGHT. SHE HAS HAD SOME PROBLEMS IN THE PAST BUT I OVERHEARD HER SAY SHE IS GOING TO SING WHEN SHE WANTS TO BECAUSE THE LORD GAVE HER A GIFT TO SING. I WON'T COMMENT ON THAT.
I HAVE BEEN JUST PRAYING ABOUT IT. YOU CAN'T REACH HER. PLEASE HELP ME TO DEAL WITH THIS SITUATION.. SHE ALSO SINGS IN THE CHOIR THAT I PLAY FOR.
IT HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT THAT PEOPLE JUS PUT THEIR HEADS DOWN WHEN SHE STANDS UP.
HELP LORD!!!
If you are the minister of music there, you probably have the authority to meet with this woman. If so, here's how I would proceed:
Start by commending her on her faithfulness and willingness to help out whenever there's a void. Tell her how much you appreciate her talent and dedication to the ministry, etc.
Then, tell her that you are not happy with the way things have been going, and that starting xyz date, you would like for her to ______ (fill in the blank with whatever you expect from her).
Some scriptures that might help are: I Corinthians 14:40, Hebrews 13:17, I Corinthians 16:16, Ephesians 4:16, and the whole chapter of I Corinthians 12 discusses how we all fit in with our various gifts and how each member makes up a part of the body.
Be sure to close by asking if she has anything she'd like to add, and making sure you are both on the same page, if possible. If she offers resistance, and you have the authority to do so, you need to let her know that this is your final decision and it's not up for discussion. Remind her that you need her in position, but you have a vision for the music department, and you expect things to be carried out this way.
If you DON'T have the authority to meet with her, you can either report your concerns to the person who DOES have that authority, or you can just accept the fact that there's nothing you can do to fix this except to continue praying.
I hope it works out for you.
