i'm thinking you can use any board for a controller... given the space that's allowed

I've used a casio as my midi controller... But i know some of the controllers interact with the software differently and you can changes the setting directly on the controller board.. whereas, i have to make my changes with the mouse/menu and etc...

I currently have a Yamaha PSR E403 that I use as midi controller but i want a pad controller to use for drums cuz it feels more natural to me to use pads instead of keys for drums.

The TRIGGER FINGER!!!!

or the Axiom 25, if you want a lil keys and pads. Could work however you program them, triggerfinger even works as a mixer, becuase, you can program automations and other tight stuff. and the price of a TF is worth it. the Axiom 25 the same!!! I stand by M-Audio all day!! lol

A producer friend of mine has a Trigger Finger and he let me hook it up in my studio.  It seems pretty cool if you like tapping on pads.  I am not crazy about it because I've been doing drums on keys for many years and I prefer that.
