wasnt Romo a 3rd stringer too  ;D I already know the answer ;D

I KNOW you're not tryin' to put THIS kid in the same class as Romo. ::)

from sportinglife.com (with my emphasis):

The career back-up, who played with the Minnesota Vikings for four seasons before signing with the 49ers last year, was fresh off his first career start in last week's 20-13 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

and another interesting article:

a. The Bucs didn't need the win. They had sown up their division and are getting ready to host a playoff game. lose a playoff game
b. Garcia was pulled; so was Graham. Galloway was injured but could've returned, as well. as always(Hmm wasnt he a Cowboy at one time?) c. They won; I'll give you that. But, if you even think about hangin' your hat on the third string guy, you're crazy. ::) :-\

When you are a franchise like the 49ers that have spent the kind of money that they've spent....YOu can't afford to be wrong!! IMO The Vikings have a problem now because they are depending on a backup quarterback to lead them to the playoffs....How's that workin out for em'.

*Derek Anderson may have struck gold this year BUT lets see how he plays in crunch time.
*Romo is still not worthy of being annointed a franchise quarterback until he does it in CRUNCH TIME. If he has done all this good stuff in the regular season and turns around and stinks in the playoffs, lets see how quickly things will change

The facts are just the facts no matter who's name you put on it.

CRUNCH TIME= WHEN IT REALLY MATTERS IN THE PLAYOFFS!!

i agree with you wholeheartedly for the most part, so all im saying is alex smith has had 3 seasons to get it right and nothing so im saying lets see what shaun hill can do. i do think romos contract has anointed him franchise qb.

What do you mean, "career backup"? That's not even a term; that's your opinion. ::)

Things happen in the NFL ALL the time; so to say that someone is a career anything is false until you get to the END of their career. ::)

You want to give Shaun Hill a chance, that's fine. But, NO ONE besides YOU is anointing him anything after TWO games. :o ::) They didn't even do that for:

Anderson
Big Ben
Brady
and
Romo

So, spare me the hype until the kid plays in more games. If I'm the niners, I go looking for a QB AND a WR. And, maybe some OL help for one Mr. Frank Gore. ::)

Another thing, Romo has spent his "career" with only ONE team, Mr. Shaun Hill can't say the same, now can he? ::)

You know, you said this same thing after the niners won their last couple of games LAST year, and look where they are this year. YOU may wanna slow your roll, playa. ::)  ;)  8)

As for Romo in crunch time, I agree. Let's see what he does in the divisional playoffs this year. :-\

#1 career back up was a term you introduced into this discussion

Anderson - the browns got rid of charlie frye like the day after
romo - we havent heard of drew since
brady was long ago but no one picks a 6th rounder to be a franchise qb\
big ben got lucky if you ask me

in regard to shaun hill i didnt say he was gonna save the niners but i have seen enough to believe that he is alot better suited to handle the offense than alex. i didnt anoint hill anything i made the anointing comment to romo.

shaun hill started 2 games and both ended with W's, so i dont really know what your arguing about.

There's only one way to know for sure whether Shaun Hill will help the Niners' next season......So I'll reserve my comments for this time next year and hopefully they won't be 6-10.....:P ::)

Dude, it's TWO games. TWO!! How can you have 'seen enough to believe' when the sportscasters in your area aren't even trying to talk like that? :-\

Now, if you're saying that you're merely giving your opinion, then that's fine. But, anything else is just off. :-\

Well from lookin at the Roster of Miami, its not really going to be a whole lot that they can do. They are on the hook for so many players that aren't even NFL quality players. I went to ESPN.com just to compare their roster to the Atlanta roster to see which job was better in my opinion. I must say that I was DUMB-FounDeD!

Philly is not going to have as much of a shake up as we may think. They CLAIMED that Donovan is coming back next year. I really don't know about Andy Reid. Either way, if they keep Donovan they need to bring to bring in some good Receivers. Even if he doesn't come back they need dependable Receivers. They have a pretty good defense "WHEN HEALTHY"

Personally I want Donovan to go to a better situation. And Bill Parcells will indeed make his presence felt but it probably won't really pay-off until his second season...IMO
I'm wondering if he's going to bring Cam Cameron back or if he's going to bring in one of his guys...so to speak.
