   I can play songs with one finger only!! So, how long will it take me to learn how to play the keyboard for my church//////Help Please.

I won't put a time (years) on it. You get with the right people, first Get With God. Get dedicated, Dont Transpose,Know your scalesm Practice with you left hand, Check out the many, many many, progressions on this web, and ect.

Once you get out of playin with one finger you are begining.

I'll also say that the amount of time to learn how to play depends on what type of musician you plan to be. The more time you put into it, the better you'll become. My advice would be:  Spend as much time as you can in the General Music Hangout (theory room). If you don't understand something, DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK. T-block has a thread at the very top of the page that gives you everything that you need to be the best musician that you can be. If possible print it out and keep it in a special notebook that you reserve for music only. Just like you had to study in order to be a good study in school, you're going to have to study in order to be the best musician. God bless!!

First of all I will say that you have certainly come to the right place to progress as a musician, and I like "ucja2008" & "chevonee" will say that you can't really put a time limit on it but learning your scales, various common progressions and movements will certainly get you on your way.

I'll tell you how long it took me, 3 years of hard work, dedication, and practice.  Any time I had a chance, I was on the keyboard practicing.  I wanted to make sure I knew exactly what I was doing before I even step foot in front of people at church.  Even then I was nervous and shaking, but I knew what to do.

You may not take as long as I did, but don't think it's gonna be a piece of cake cuz it won't.  This is serious business cuz u not just learning for yourself, u learning for you church, and that's God's business right there.  Make sure this is exactly what u want to do before u start this journey.  It's more than just getting up and playing cuz there's no musician, it's also a ministry.
