I guess if I wanted to be entertained through gospel music, I'd pick these CDs up. However........... ::)

Is James Hall still using those gothic chord structures in his compositions?  :(

Everytime I hear John Peters play, I get depressed.

LOL!  It's not as Gothic as they've been in the past.

I like how he made it a double-disc, even though it's only 16 tracks. :D

Does anyone else think Brent Easton smashed on this Ricky Dillard CD??

I think dude did an awesome job, I like how Ricky and my boy Mike(organist/md) always figure out ways to keep the sound up to date and contemporary, but keep the vintage church sound alive.

I highly recommend this CD and make sure your listen to the "Search Me" track especially the very end.  :o :o :o

God Bless

Umm yeah!  Brent did smash this cd!  As for James Hall, he's still using those super dark chord structures and John is still killin....one song.

Ricky Dillard's cd is hotness from beginning to end. James Hall is my favorite gospel artist, but I was a little bit dissapointed with the production aspect of his new album. The room acoustics were horrible and the overall mix was below par at best in my opinion. You couldn't even hear the bass guitar for half the project. Reggie Young has to be in the mix man!
My goal as a musician is to be better than myself.

I feel you.  Some of the songs were done in the studio because they shouted too long at the recording, and the venue said 'Lights Out'
