Relaxation is not even the word.  He doesn't even look like he's working at all!  Did you peep the left hand lead at the 0:15 mark?  How long has he been playing like that?  I dig his phrasing, but why is he playing MAPEX?  They don't sound bad, but....  :-\

Has anyone heard any word as to when DFJ drops?

I know man!  When I think of high end kits, I don't usually think about Mapex.  Those sound suprisingly good.  I wonder what series those are?

7 posts versus 159 views?  The numbers don't add up!  Thats a 4% return on all of the cats that have seen this! 

And cats wonder why they keep loosing the drum off ::)

This is the perfect example of what (I'd presume) the drum off judges are looking for.  Phrasing, control, and an extreme comand for the instrument.  Sput is more than just a gospel drummer.  He's on some other stuff for real!

What I love about "sput" is that he is unpredictable. He not throwing widely used chops at usual placements, but instead displaying such creativity and a variety of hybrid rudiments and hand foot combo's that just say "sput" all over them.

mapex isnt my fav drum company, but they make sum really nice high end kits. the church i play at has a mapex deep forest kit and it is one of the best sounding kits ive heard. (note: i said one of the best, not the best, so people please dont get all crazy on me! lol) but sput is a beast and he is very underated!
