To my understanding, FUGAZI is an Italian term describing something to be fake or a fraud.

Think of the Johnny Depp, Al Pacino movie (whose title escapes me at the moment). :-\ :D


In addition, it's a supposed military term meaning 'a messed up situation' (although, 'messed up' isn't the actually term they use to describe it  ;) ).
