Ok, the question is "Have you started doing something within your playing that you really haven't practice much or was aware of what you were doing at the time? Here is what I mean...I am a decent pop/slap player....I do it sparingly when a song calls for it and if a song is designed that way..well, at choir practice last night keyboard player, drummer and myself were doing a little shedding before practice...for some reason I got this certain groove in my head and was just playing, the drummer fell in and then the keyboardist fell in too....I was doing several pop/slap riffs that I have never heard or practice before and did some chords as well. The big then about the pop/slap I was doing was that I was using 2 and sometimes 3 fingers on the pops...kind of like how Victor does...of coure no where close to his speed and agility..but I had never really focused on that...the MOM came in and was like "what song is that, we can do that for the offering or something" . We told him that we were just playing around and he didn't believe us....several of the musicians were asking me where did that come from?
I was just wondering if any of you have experienced that..I guess you can learn and grow sub-consciously....needless to say I was up practicing until about 2am this morning because I was so hyped!!
