Learning The Yamaha Mo8

My church just purchased me this new Yamaha M08. I need some help in learning how to get the most out of this keyboard. If you can help please help a bruh out. And if possible can you all post how has this keyboard been for you.

My church has an Mo8 too...it's a pretty good keyboard..I'm a organ player so I don't know TOO much about the keyboard. But I know it's a wonderful keyboard to have in church(honestly I think the Mo8 is best for church, because the Motif has all that studio stuff on it and in my opinion you would be spending extra money for stuff you wouldn't use)...But umm as far as getting the most out of the keyboard..what all do you plan on doing with it ?  It has a 16-track Sequencer in it..Take a look at the manual bruh..it tells you everything...

Well like I said I don't really play the keyboard...I'm the organist, but the times I've played it..I've been really impressed ...nice piano sounds

i have the mo6.it is a great keyboard.It just lack in the brass department.The best brass on their is the octabrass in the performance mode.u can the slider as drawbars by using the fully sound and the drawcontrol sound.The best piano sound is the rock brite.

i own a MO8... its a good board, the sounds are decent, and it makes a good main board. i hardly ever use it for colors, just mainly the pianos & EP's.

i have a motif ES6 its just like the MO, the only difference is the motif ES has sampling capability the MO  doesnt, if you listen to the file that i have attached to this post, you can hear the R&B electric piano that i used to play for wedding recently, but overall nice piano sounds and organs, the brass isnt that good unless you know how to go in the parameters and change things. you can do eq, and reverb on the fly in real time, you have master mode where you can set up your song service sorta like a cue list. its a great board. when i play the pianos i like the professional sound and feel that i get when i hit the keys

i hate to say it but the manual sucks the best place to get info about all the motifs is www.motifator.com.

master mode is really cool function in the mo or the motif

performance mode is good also, on my motif  i have 4 slider bars that i can program to fit my song, for instance when our choir sings "all around" by Israel and new breed, the verse i play the first two sliders with the volume up and the rest of the sliders down, the first two sliders are piano and bass, when its time to play the chorus i bring slider 3 volume up and i have organ, on the vamp i bring up the slider 4 volume and i have brass, very cool function if you the only musician at the church lol ;D

I'm still enjoying my MO8... it's been about a year and a half since I've had it!  I really like the piano and organ sounds the most.

which buttons to push to use the preset drums on the Yamaha MO8 for shouting and praising God, or do i need to learn to make beats on the Yamaha MO8, help please......thanks in advance.

hey dee,I have an XS;but I think it's similar on the MO6+8;in Performance mode you can have different arps going;one for drums.Pick some grooves;you can uses the faders to bring/mute the drum parts.
yamaha's product support has been very helpful,as well as many "how to "Posts on u-tube.

I'm trying to learn to do my own drum grroves to play over;also Motifator has some great stuff 3 rd party!

The MO.  I love that keyboard.  But it was time for us to part ways.  Nothing wrong with it, I would recommend it to anyone.  I wanted a Roland Fantom had the MO 8 for 3 years which God blessed me with it with a 20 % discount and they wanted for me to arrive at the store a half hour after they closed and they let me play it and another keyboard for an hour.  Praise be to God and my Pastor gave me the tax exempt.  God is so good, didn't know about the 20 percent discount until checkout time.  Truly a blessing.  I sold it to a church in Mexico, I live in Lancaster, Pa.  It was a church, they didn't know me they just sent the Money.  I sold it for $800.00 to be a blessing to someone.  The keyboard broke on it right when it was time to ship.  So I got it fixed, sent the keyboard and then they sent me a video they used the keyboard in a music video.  Not finished yet,  God allowed me to get a Roland Fantom 88 keys brand new for half price.  If you put your Trust and Faith on God, thank you Jesus, he will reward you and give you the desires of your heart.
