You can also consider doing what a lot of fitness people do.  Instead of going around the clock from 6 to 6 starving yourself, you can do what some of those guys on the Muscle magazine covers do:

Instead of eating 3 meals a day, they would eat 4 or 5.  Quantitywise, they would make sure it all adds up to the same as the 3-a-day.  They're under the notion that a standard size meal stretches their stomach, giving them a wide waist.  So, instead of eating a final meal at 6, they would eat a small snack-size meal at 6.  Do it again about 10 pm.  Do it again about 2 am.  Go back to sleep.  Wake up in the morning and eat a small-size breakfast, and so on.

That's how they have a 29 waist, yet, weigh 280 - 300 lbs.  Have you ever seen a built dude with a wide waist?   He probably eat 3 meals a day.  This also allows your metabolism to keep going.  When you stop eating, your metabolism stops, as well.

(and I know there's some bodybuilders out there who's going to slam me on this and say I'm wrong, but that's my 2 cents.)

see here we go again, lol you dont starve yourself to lose weight... you must hit the gym and change what you eat... yes you are right eating 5 to 6 times a day is what they do but this includes protein shakes, protein bars, salads, each counting as a meal..... hahahah and each meal is small... they have a small waist because they keep there body fat down by eating chicken, tuna, fish, etc. staying away from soda, sugar, rice, cake, pasta, pies, etc.... and i.e staying away from carbs.... hahaha and i am not saying your wrong you just have your information incorrect, lol smile...

you must understand your body and foods. what you dont understand is some people that are "big boned" dont really eat as much as you think they just eat wrong and dont workout and eat late. eating 1 meal a day makes your body hold onto the fat in to the food storing it on the body. So changing it by eat 5 to 6 times a day makes the body stop holding onto the food...

basically i will leave you with this... workout smart and eat smart and you will lose weight or build muscle... doing it wrong you will not lose anything or lose to much too fast... have fun in your working out remember your body is the temple of God

No, I'm not wrong.  Why should I tell her to work out when she already stated that she's working out?  And I'm definately am not going to dictate a diet to her.  And that "stretched stomach giving a person a wide waist" thing, I actually seen that in a few of those Mr. Universe mags, pointed out to me by one of those super work-out guys who looked just like those guys on the mag cover.  So, I'm not making that up.

But I just gave a mere suggestion.  I would imagine that there's more than one way to skin a cat.  Then again, maybe not...
