Thanksgiving Dinner - A LGM tradition
« on: November 14, 2007, 09:30:06 AM »
Every year we discuss what's we are preparing (or plan to eat) for Thanksgiving. I'm cooking today and tomorrow and freezing it since I am scheduled for surgery this coming Monday (19th). I don't plan on being laid up without a meal. My youngest will cook the desserts and food that I can't freeze next week.

So here's my menu---I'm going light this year because of the knee :

SEAFOOD GUMBO!!! ---I'm cooking it right now

Turkey
Cornbread Dressing
Yams
Mac & Cheese
Green bean
Potato Salad
Green Salad
Seafood Stuffed Bell Peppers
Rolls

Desserts
Sweet Potato Pie
Peach Cobbler
Chess Pie
Homemade Pound Cake

Not sure what we're having since we all are going down south to see the family.  But sounds like I need drop the family off in Tennessee and keep it moving to Mama T's house.
If it had not been for the Lord on my side, where would I be!!!

Sister T, put my name on your Thanksgiving Meal Prayer List!!!!

Since Daddy is now married (which I still shudder to think about), his wife is burning cooking "preparing" something for the household for this great holiday.  This makes the first Thanksgiving in 7 years where I have not cooked.  Therefore, unless a last-minute request arises, I WILL BE SUFFERING FROM MEAL PREP WITHDRAWAL ALL NEXT WEEK....please keep your boy lifted!  OK!?  LOL!

VIOLATION!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Bible says that when you move into your first place, you're supposed to buy TWO turkeys to cook for your first Thanksgiving there.  It is expected that you will mess the first one up (I DID)...especially if you don't call grandma or somebody and ask them how!  LOL!

The second one is to go back and "redeem" yourself for the previous error so that you never have to 'fess-up to the first fiasco.  Only Jesus needs to know about that one!!! LOL!
