I hope that this question hasn't been asked b4, if it has please just ignore this. Does anyone know of any websites that are specifically designed to help musicians find jobs, gigs, or what have you. As you all may know, I live in Central Georgia and I am looking for a church or just a place to play. Your help in this matter would be very much appreciated.

That's a great question!  Unfortunately, I don't have a great answer.  I will suggest this as a start, though:  Often, when I listen to gospel music programs on Sunday mornings, there's usually a section of the program for "church announcements".  I often hear of job openings for musicians at this time.  Consider calling the stations that have a gospel format- or even better, check their websites.  Often, the announcements are posted for a week or so.  Hope this gives you a start.  Good luck!

Not to tell all of my business but I think that just like CM..I think, I finally realized that things aren't going to get better at my current situation, so its time to move on. Please pray for Chevonne, that God will grant me wisdom of where to go and what to do.

Most people find gigs by networking with other musicians. I know blackgospelmusic.com attempted that a long time ago. Not sure if its up to date. Now some churches post jobs on career sites like careerbuilder.com The problem I think is that there are alot of crazy musicians out there so people dont want to tie their name to that.

There are two sites than come immediately to mind:

1- MyChurch.org is a rapidly growing community of Churches from all over
    the US.  It's mainly free (now that they are getting big they're starting to charge
    fees, of course); the purpose is to allow Churches to build a basic website featuring who they are, beliefs, mission statement, vision, Worship times, photos, calendar, etc and it promotes meeting Christians from other Churches for sharing
ideas and possibly planning events together.  I've been seeing more and more ads coming thru for various musicians.  Check it out and see what you find.  Try going
under "Search" for musicians, wanted, --you know what to do.

2-Flockfinders.com is similar to MyChurch.org only much more geared toward
   the want ad genre. Go there and see what you can find.

Above is the one I check daily - they usually have new listing added each day and you can search by location, denomination, job type and probably other ways too.

Vonee, I was going to suggest churchstaffing.com as well. I check there on a fairly regular basis, and have actually picked up a gig or two.

Only problem is... except for a miracle from on high, you probably won't have an easy time finding something in your neck of the wilderness... lol.

You would probably be better off putting an ad in your local newspaper. I know I did that one time before and I got lots of calls, even in my small town. I've also made my own business cards (which I need to distribute  )

I made up some business cards on my own a few years back. I handed them out. I also put one in a restaurant. I got calls back. I agree with Val too. If you put an ad in the paper you will definitely get calls.
