My Limewire isnt working, Maybe Its god telling me to start buying music legaly. But It's ironic how you can download songs for free and do whatever you want with them, but when you pay for them you can only burn them a certain amount of times and transfer them only to certain devices

Do you know how much it cost to produce a Profssional quality cd?

you got studio fees, Producer fees, engineer fees, singers to pay musicians to pay, you gotta get thousands of cds pressed, pay advertising and promotion fees and more

It could be dozens of thousands of dollars to produce a 15 track cd

Obviously the more you can do yourself the less it will cost you but it is still an expensive process

About two months ago, I was about to start a post asking what people think about burning music.  I didn't want the hecklers to slap me with a "didn't we already have a thread on this" or "merge on Aisle 7, please," so I did a search first.

If you still want to discuss it further, please let me know.  I'll be glad to give you my two cents on it.  (Actually, my two cents would be a copy/paste of what Sister T and other folks said; I feel the same way).

Not to mention that if you are signed to a label that gave you an advance, all of that money has to be recouped by the label before the artist/group makes a royalty off of the CD.

I only will download something if it is a song/CD that is out of print.  Believe me I check everything to see if I can buy it on CD first.  I have a friend that get that music for me.  She's very good at locating stuff.
