teaching "You are Good"
« on: December 17, 2007, 10:59:07 AM »
I did a new how-to-play video on Israel Houghton's song "You are Good" and y'all can see it here:

I added some chord shape/diagrams in the following format:
E
B
G
D
A
E

And tried to offer a little more detail in the chords that I used.
I think that the voice quality is a little better than last time...not as low when compared to the guitar.

As before, enjoy and please send any comments and criticisms my way.

btw: if the mods feel the need to move this to somewhere more appropriate, please do so and let me know. Thanks.

Dave,

Have we told you lately that we LOVE YA?   :D

That's a VERY cool lesson and I hope you kick out some more material in this format.

I love seeing how others play these praise/worship standards...

(NOTE: The only criticism I have is the absence of your ESP 400 Series Strat in this video, of course)   ;)

Bless you, buddy. You have all my respect in the heart with which you move.

...  ?/?  ?/?  ?/?

So, Dave... are you telling me that chords used in metal are used in Christian music? Gospel even? ;)

J/K, to all who are unaware of me (there are some new folks--I'm of a whimsical sort, so pay no mind lol)

That was a really good vid. I subscribed to your stuff, I guess I didn't realize it was out there. Sorry.

I'm still meaning to do more myself, but I lack motivation...

Keep on, man.

Prof Dave: That was a really good vid and instructional breakdown. Now we have a real live face to go along with the snapshot.  8)

Keep up the good work of knowledge sharing.

Ok, sing along happy time now...

"We - Are - Fa - mi - ly! I got all my brutha's with me!"  ;D

Seriously, what I might do is a future lesson on what Prince does in Stevie's "So What the Fuss" song.
That's classic R&B/funk guitar right there. That and MJ's "Don't Stop 'til You get Enough"...although that wasn't our beloved Prince.

HAHA! I've got the cassette of "Thriller" and the album of "Off the Wall".

I've even got a box of 8-tracks downstairs...and a reel of Chicago's first recording.

A REEL!!!  :o WOW!!! :o :o :o

I think I barely remember the 8-track!!! LOL! My dad had an old reel-to-reel in the basement. I don't think he could let it go... he still has a microwave sized Betamax in the house! :'(
