most of the time this is true if it is a difficult thing to learn then most people will shy away from it so when you learn it it will be like wow thats really nice how do you do that
Usuallty the difficult things will sound more exotic to the ear because they are not common kind of like using sophisticated vocabulary if you know what you are talking about and really how the words are used then people will know you are educated when you speak
I started messing around with this new book School of Advanced piano playing
by Rafael Joseffn
the book is type rough they require all the exercises to be played in every key
and they only write out the first couple of keys
its not an easy book and if you are scared when you look at it dont bother
but if you have the courage to undertake this book it will do wonders for your technique
I am talking about that pristine stuff you hear the masters do.
its a book you need to take your time with if you have gone through most of hanon or even the first 17 exercises then you are ready for this book for real hanon will only take you so far Dont get me wrong I still rock with hanon especially the last 13 exercises
this book will take you the rest of the way. places hanon never will
I believe this book is actually the wirtuoso section of Hanon on steroids
This is purely a technique book and who out there doesent need to improve their technique
I am combining this book with moves from the latest DVD's and i transpose the progressions chord by chord
in other words
lets say the progression or move contains five chords I practice the first one in every key
then I practice one and two together in every key then i practice 1 2 3 in ever key until the whole move is learned
between the two drills of chord moves and linear technique you benhn to develop a fluency on the piano that defies explanation
I wanted to share this with everyone it has been a while since i have dropped some science on the site
I am still in the wood shed Still working it out,
