250 watts

will 250 watts combo bass amp be efficient for a venue of 100-200 people, i'm looking at the fender bassman 250/2x10

It should be, depending on the size of the room and what other instruments you'll be playing with.

I've considered that same combo but right now I play through the church's sound system.

That should be enough granted all band members keep ther volume at respectable levels! :) I gigged with a Fender BXR200 (200w) for a few years and it was quite loud to say the least. I also gigged a Peavey TNT130 (130w) for many years and that was also quite loud enough for small venues.

It will be mostly for a jazz band... Instruments include keys, drums, vocals, maybe a couple of horns and possibly a guitar
