Pfft. If Sabian becomes that popular they'll just move up their pricing as well.

min_amw, I guess that you missed this (located on page two): Well, add Sabian, Ltd. to the price increase list: "NEWS FLASH! - Sabian has announced a 10% price increase for Jan 2008... If you're on the fence, grab them now, before the increase."

And, they (Sabian) also had a 10% increase in 2006, if I'm remembering correctly.

10% of list price really isn't worth complaining about to me. Especially when a company has proven themselves as Sabain has through innovation, selection, product quality and availablility. The products are worth more to me than the increase in list price. A cymbal listed at $300 will have a MAP (minmum advertised price) of $180 (around 40% off). The price increase would take the list price to $330. MAP would then be $198. That's $18 difference in sale price. Most of us probably blow that in fast food in a week. Alot of buyers don't know that most of the time, you can buy Sabian (or maybe even Zildjian) cymbals at 50% off of the list price without hurting the dealer's profits. You just gotta know how to ask. Can you dig it?

Ay, I'm just informing the masses - I'm good on cymbals (I have about thirteen presently).
If you're good, that's great. That makes at least two of us (confirmed). I'm a comparative shopper, too. Again, this is an informative post for the masses.

Pfft. If Sabian becomes that popular they'll just move up their pricing as well. If they're smart they won't. You make more money with good prices and moving merchandise vs just a high price up front. That's good business. Plus WHO you buy it from makes all of the difference. Some of these shops will mark up stuff while others will give you a really good discount price. The shop where I get my stuff from sells everything at an everyday discount price. And the majority of the local pros go to him. They will ship to you. Check them out www.forksdrumcloset.com in Nashville, TN.

Well what do you guys think! Your dollar has gone way down in value around the world and Zildjian has to keep up....But ask, why do you care about the big name companies anyway? I'm playing Stagg Cymbals and I'm very happy with them...Id put the high end Staggs up to an K, A, AAX, HHX, or whatever. If your not making the big bucks drumming or on the road 24/7 then why do you need the brand names? Use you ears swallow your pride and use what sounds good....Ill be honest before I had endorsements I had no problem using a Dixon snare if it sounded good...I still go to a music store and see a snare for 80 bucks that's killer and just want it....

But ask, why do you care about the big name companies anyway?
If your not making the big bucks drumming or on the road 24/7 then why do you need the brand names? Use you ears swallow your pride and use what sounds good. I believe that the answer to your question is personal preference. I'm sure that the respondents could also get Stagg Cymbals, Saluda Cymbals, etc., but they prefer _____ brand of cymbals. Of course, some of it could be attributed to brand loyalty (no matter what), but again, it boils down to my opening statement: I believe that the answer to your question is personal preference. It is also my belief that the respondents will also take advantage of the "if it sounds good, I'll buy it", regardless of the name on the product. I do not feel that it's fair to question why someone need the brand name. It's their money, right? You have your money, right? You do what you want with your money, and let them do what they want with their money.

Dream Cymbals do sound good But there are kind of hard to match sound wise IMO. I tried them out at a local drum shop and the splashes are pretty nice, Have a nice "psshhh" sound if that makes sense..
