Just try to listen to different types of music and learn to think like a horn player  or a guitar player, listen to funk and classical music where these types of instument are used a lot. There are also plenty of gospel artist that use horns and different synth sounds (hezakiah walker, fred hammond) so try to learn the how to play those songs using different sounds

What they said.   ;D   With practice, you'll be fine.  It's all about phrasing and dynamics mostly.  Also, you have pitch, modulation, and filters, to add to the expression of whatever sounds you're using.
