Cheryl Harper
« on: January 04, 2008, 05:01:21 AM »
About 3 weeks ago I started a thread about Kurt Carr coming to my church asking of anyone knew who was playing drums....well while looking at the rider, I was surprised it said she,....

Come to find out it was the world famous Cheryl Harper.

I was so excited tosee her play....and of course she killed!!!!!

She was running these loops off of a program called "reason"...

Anyone heard of it.

Yes some people say that reason is better then Acid (by Sony)...I use Acid for loop based recording.

Cheryl is on a lot of Gospel CDs and I think she also has a MySpace page.  She is a top female gospel drummer and has been around for a while.

Reason is a fixture in today's music production.  A large majority of hip-hop comes from the Reason program.  I have it on my computer.  It's some of the most incredible software.  I can't begin to describe it.

Here's another video of her....slow song but still pretty nice....she's not my favorite....I respect her though....she dissed one of my friends when he opened up for Kurt Carr with this other choir a while back. He asked her to sign his snare backstage and she said "nah". That's wack.........

Could have been a case whre she has an endorsement with a particular company and the snare/head of your friend was a competitor's product.  An autograph on the competitor's brand could be really bad for business.  I may be reaching, but it could happen.

True, but if it did happen like that, how hard would it be to explain that to the person wanting the signature?  Just a thought.

I don't know dude. I definitely know what you're saying. I think that's still wack. It's not like Sheryl Harper would affect a company's business big time by just signing another head company's head. She is not a Dave Weckl or a drummer that is known that much. I think what she did was rude. I wouldn't have done that even with an endorsement. I mean dude c'mon..........a fan comes up to you....and you diss them....they were backstage too.....It's not like she was being bugged by a whole mess of people.............GB

That still doesn't allow him to do anything like that (but I know what you mean).
