::: Billy Cobham Live @ 60 DVD Review :::
« on: January 05, 2008, 09:15:18 PM »
Billy Cobham is one of my favorite players.  This dvd captures him playing with his band Culturemix in Paris.  The video was recorded days after his 60th "aniversary".  I must say that he is killing from start to finish.  His band is solid and brings much to the table.  Most of the music is written by Billy, although there are some contributions to the dvd by some of the other members in the band.  Volcano was written by the keyboardist, and is one of my favorites on the dvd.

Billy plays throughout with a sickening effortlessness.  Its nuts because anyone that knows Billys playing knows that he plays with crazy power.  Speed, finess, power, musicality.....  Its all there.

This is a must have for ANY drummer.

Get it.
Here is a link to a vid from the dvd.

I see that it finally came in!  Thanks for the review.  How's the video quality?  Sound quality?

Pretty good.  The video is clear.  Its not in HD.  The audio is balanced.  I have no complaints.
