Scoops? Are you referring to the ports on the top and bottom of the Eden cab? If so, most bass cabs have ports, sometimes they're front ported, sometimes the ports are facing the rear. In a nutshell, they are there so that air can move when the speakers are in use. If you've ever put your hand in front of the air ports while a cab is in use, you'll notice that a lot of air is being pushed out. The harder the cab is pumpin', the more air gets moved.
