Is anyone else noticing....

I think so brother cause we are slowing up too but we yet have rehearsal on sat nights

I'm not sure about that, Jonathan.

In NY, nothing (and I mean NOTHING) keeps you home from church unless you just don't want to go.

Here in Atlanta, if there is even a hint of flurries coming, heavy rain, or heavy winds, people simply will not go to church for service, Bible Study, rehearsal, or anything else.

But I agree that there is usually a drop in attendance from mid-December to the end of January.

we have a decline in the summer months (when people are on vacations, family reunions, weddings etc.)  Sometimes during thanksgiving and christmas, but other than that, not really.

I've noticed it.  It pisses me off to no end!!  Pardon me, but I'm sicc with it. Heads get  ::) "So tired" when it's time for rehearsal.  BUT, let there bke a recording or something coming up.  You can't keep these ninjas out of rehearsal.  It siccens me to no end.  Maybke I just love it too much.  Who's to say.

Yeah you are so right about that one, recording, concert, musical, News people gone be there, etc. they come out of no where!!

For my church is the other way around. More people have been showing up. The problem is that they can't sing.  :D

This may seem radical, but I'd say get rid of all that dead weight and use the faithful members.


Once in a while, I get; emergencies occur. But, week in/week out? That's a symptom of a heart condition. :-\

And, yes, if that means you only have 3 members of your praise team, then so be it; provided they can sing, of course.  :D

Yeah, it may be radical, but that's the problem in today's church.  We want to be radical, but not in the right ways... we want "radical praise" whatever that is...  ::)  Getting rid of dead weight shouldn't even be considered radical, it should be a best practice.  It speaks of excellence, something that's desperately needed in today's church.

I've said the same thing before, if that leaves you with 3 or 4 members, at least you're giving God (and the people of God) your best, as opposed to giving them whatever is there...

In other words, COSIGN.

You can do like I do, no attendance for rehersals and service, I start having outings and dinner's for the ones who do show up; unannounced of course. ;D ;D ;D
