SISTERT.....WE'RE PICKING UP THE BALL!

SO...

In the midst of me being "semi-depressed" about everything that is NOT happening as far as finishing the CD due to finances, I think I'm about to try something.

Remember "The Missing Piece"....the play I e-mailed to you and you guys did it a while back?

I think I'm gonna do a showing of it onstage somewhere and use THAT money for more studio time, paying singers, etc.

We did it at GPHMBC last year during Black History Month and both shows were standing room only.  Of course, all that money went to them (silly me).

HERE IS MY ISSUE:

Black History month is THIS MONTH, which is the best target-time to do a Black History - oriented play.

Will people actually spend the money to come and see a production of that nature ...say, in April?  Maybe May?

I will have to find a place to practice (maybe on the stage at GPHMBC's Life Center since my mama is Director ... of course she's moving to Texas at the end of the month)...but maybe something will give somewhere.

from what I, know of you...You are a man of many talents and you shoulda been rich already!  Doing weddings and choir directing, playright, song writer, among many other things.   What I, do see (please take what I, say in love) is that before you even have an opportunity to take off, it seems a lot of times that you ''clip your own wings''.  Your talents are gifts from God and would God give you wings if He didn't expect you to fly?  It's time to spread those talented wings of yours and fly.  You have to believe in yourself before anyone else will believe in you and when you enter doubt into any situation, don't expect it to succeed.

I'm praying that God will encourage you in confidence so that you can reach your full potential.  There are people who will see your talents and your confidence and be supportive and  instrumental in  you realizing your dreams.  As for the play....I, say GO FOR IT.  JUST DO IT!  Don't overthink the who's, what's, where's, when's or why's....Just know that you're doing it for the glory of God and that you're not only going to be a blessing to others, but blessed yourself.....

Wow....you're an inspiration.  I needed this.  Perhaps next time I get discouraged I'll imagine a dignitary licking their fingers.  I'll laugh FIRST...but the true revelation will come!  LOL!

In other words, don't do fliers and tickets that look like it was done by your 10th grade neice, make sure that you present your play to the public in a professional manner.

Actually, marketing phase one was "this post" (LOL)!!!!!

I'm trying to "pre-see" how many people (if any) would pay to see a Black History - oriented play OUTSIDE of the traditional Black History month.

Being that you have actually presented the play before, your opinion means more to me than most.
