have accepted without question the idea, taught from almost all evangelical pulpits, that the Bible tells us 'personhood' begins the moment the sperm fertilizes the egg. And on that basis they do not hesitate to call abortion murder, plain and simple.

Life begins when the baby is born.

Exodus 21:22-26:
"If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe."
 

    Here is a law governing harm ("mischief") resulting from men quarreling and coming to blows, and their women getting in the way somehow. This is not the case of a man attacking a woman. If she is hurt in a way which causes her to lose the infant by miscarriage, but herself recovers, the man must pay a fine as determined by the husband and agreed to by the judges of Israel. But if any harm continues to the woman, God's law decrees a just retribution, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, etc. ("tooth", "burning", and "stripe" show that this cannot refer to the infant in the womb). These verses are not in an obscure portion of God's Word. They were cited by our Lord as being well known to his countrymen: "Ye have heard that it hath been said, an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth...."(Matthew 5:38).

As the writer shows above, the OT did not consider a unborn child to count as murder.

My personal opinion on Abortion ... No don't do it cause the main reason many want abortion is cause of our love for money. Children are amazing. However if I had to choose between asking the doctor to save my wife or to save my unborn child I'm saving my wife

Wrong interpretation !!!!!this pertains to an accident;not a deliberate act.In the OT;children were considered a blessing FRom LORD.

But LORD ordained a provision to kill a disobedient son-so if GOD doesn't change;HE tells ya "don't do this".So;you go ahead and disobey;HE has set the precedent from HIM to kill you;for being disobedient.(see 10 commandments).

So;if LORD blesses you with a child,and you kill it and break a commandment-YOU(imo) have opened a door and INVITED LORD's wrath(upon self).You have spurned HIS will +blessing.You believe you're gonna put it past HIM?

You should look at the stats on the women who have all kinds of mental health issues(self imposed curse?) for participation.

Last,heard a methodist pastor who came out of methodist liberalism(endorsed abortion) who spoke the most anti-abortion rationale have ever heard.

Going back to GENESIS -"SPIRIT of LORD ,LORD's OWN breath was given to us" to bring life forth.We dare to trivialize /meddle in LORD's plan.

If a woman is raped, i agree that abortion could/should be considered and action should/could be taken without guiltiness of conscience... the discretion is up to the victim.

other than that... you lay down with dogs, you get flees.. if you dont want the flees, dont lay with dogs! LOL! i dont think it's right for a person to think they can live a whorish, fornicating life and then when they slip up, they wanna go and get rid of the "slip up" and all. i think people should suffer through it. look how many people CAN NOT even conceive in the world and how many people just go around sleeping with john and jane then want to get rid of "it" like "it" cant be the next president or world changer. Virtue-that really says it all.Funny thing about rape issues;if a woman IS raped,and gets med attention IMMEDIATELY;there's about a 1-3 day time frame before pregnancy/implantation occurs.Fertilization is NOT 5 minutes past coitus.

Good advice for all of us,not only relegated to the bedroom.
