Okay....I really TRIED to like Israel's "I am a Friend of God" but couldn't!
GASP!!!! YOU OLD HEATHEN!!!

I cosign on that Timothy Wright "Jesus Jesus Jesus". Good grief, what is it with these little old lady story songs? Oh and cosign 2 on Jeff Majors. Even my father (who has conservative music tastes) has such disdain for that man and his coma-inducing "music" and personality.
I don't know why but Israel's "I Am Not Forgotten" makes me grit my teeth.
And I have come to detest "Alabaster Box" because I have heard it sung sooooo many times with soundtrack and no emotion.
Trinitee 5:7 "There He Is" because it's repetitive and sounds like an R. Kelly song.
I have to admit I like that Alvin Darling song "NO BODEEEEE! NO BODEEEE! BUT THE LAWD!"
(slinks away into corner)
The reason Trinitee 5:7's stuff sounds like an R.Kelly song is because they've worked with him in the past. R.Kelly and Kirk Franklin produced their first album. I think they still have a connection to him despite Matthew Knowles being their new manager. They even re-recorded R.Kelly's "U Saved Me" possibly as a nod to him? I hear their version on the radio every now and then, but I change it to something else instead.
LOL, I like that Alvin Darling too. What about that beginning? "Di-di-di-did you know that Jesus was the one that died on Calvary?"

In reference to "Cooling Water"
What kind of song is it?
Like he said, if it's not a gospel song, then what is it? I looked up the lyrics, and it's a song about baptism. It talks about being delievered from sin, and has the line "They took me down in the water". Sounds like baptism to me.
Well, how about Beau Williams' "Holy Ghost Work Me Till I Sweat"? I think he watched "The Steve Harvey Show" too much, sounds a lot like "When The Funk Hits The Fan", lol. I'd never heard it before until our minister of music let him come to our church and sing it as a special guest. Everyone in the church was aghast! Looks of disbelief, those us in the choir were trying not to laugh, but when he brought that whistle out, it was all over!
