lawd if anything buy drum rings or a little moongel, but not the towels and the socks ..I used them before but been paying alot more attention to tuning, i've been tuning my kit.makes a big difference....

I can't for the life of me figure out how to stop this god-awful buzzing noise on my kit.  I have tried changing my snare wires.  I switched to the 95 wire snare  strainer, but that seemed to make it worse.

Any ideas J_Kay?

Ay, detune the snares to reduce the buzzing, and purchase a set of wires that has 47.5 strands on it.  That should do the trick.

Personally, i'd rather play on at least one tom with some kind of sound, than to play on 3 toms that sound the same with towels taped to them with them all sounding like your are hitting on a mattress.

I'm guessing alot of the beginner drummers don't know that new heads could help out the sound of drums alot and could make even the worst kits sound decent. So if your heads are all beat up, don't cover it up with a cut-up towel, change the heads!

...LOL.  I feel you on that one.  I recently played at a church that had a kit with a bunch of tape all over the heads.  I looked at the drummer and was about to ask him if he was sponsored by 3M. lol
