Why do we always have to be out of order? Case in point: I went to a gospel choir concert this past weekend. Where I'm from gospel choirs are like street gangs. They have concerts so they can out-sing each other and they actually have rivalry and everything.
Here's how it went:
1) It started late, of course. I got there when it was supposed to start. Actually got there late on purpose and sat for 45 minutes.
2) When it was time to start none of the choirs that were supposed to sing were there. So, the person in charge sang a solo to waste time. And then another person sang a solo and then another person sang a solo.
3) There was no sound guy. There was so much feedback it was ridiculous.
4) They had wayyyyy too many choirs on the schedule. For one, y'all behind because you started late and then there's like 10 different groups who are supposed to sing.
5) I kept seeing people snacks. I thought they were going to the corner store but when I left I saw a glass case with drinks in it and snacks.
6) One of the leaders got up and said "Some of my choir members are outside" so I'm gonna start anyway.
7) The choir members who were outside came in during the middle of the song and got up to sing like nothing. Tacky!!!

They kept changing out band members for each group which is fine. But they were coming up in the middle of someone else's song to set up. Y'all couldn't chip in to get 2 keyboards and a drums set that everyone could use for the night.

Why we gotta be so loud? Loud does not equal anointing. It doesn't even equal intensity. More people doesn't mean a better sound. It just means more LOUD. It also means that we can't understand what you're saying. Isn't the point of gospel music the message.
9) People kept adding stuff into their songs like, "I know y'all ready to go home but ..." and "I know it's getting late but ..." and then kept singing. If you know it's getting late then wrap the song up and sit down.
10) It looked like a RuPaul convention. I've never seen so many effeminate boys at one event. Why do they gravitate to the church choir?
My spirit was grieved. I don't know about anyone else. I'm sure God was either laughing or even worse crying.
