You're right, she only said effiminate.  And truth be told, I don't know if that's a problem we will EVER be able to fix.

But some people who read her comment and replied before I did thought that she IMPLIED gay, which is why they posted the way they did.

Men wear pink t-shirts, and?  The color of the shirt does not make the man.  I just did some rebates for a breast cancer event called "Tough Guys Wear Pink".  These were all COWBOYS who participated with their wives (even though they could have been on the DL, but that ain't my point).

Be a man?  What exactly does that mean, sir?  Outside of the way he may walk (out of habit or whatever), what makes him NOT a man?  If you can call someone a "gay MAN", aren't you still calling him a "MAN" when all is said and done? 

This is actually kinda funny....I know a little boy right now who lives in a single-parent home with his mom.  He has some "feminine ways" as we call them.  But don't let some of his mama's friends come over and take their shoes off.  I swear li'l J has a foot fetish so help me!!!  She has to whip him to make him stop playing with women's feet and legs!

I PRAY HE GROWS OUT OF IT, BUT IF NOT I'd hate for him to grow up and be the victim of being "labeled".

If people look at him and say "you're a punk, you're a f*g"  or what have you, chances are that by speaking that over him he could become it without any previous intentions!  The tongue is a powerful thing (and in this case, so is the finger(s) you type with).

Sometimes we rant and rave (no offense to the original poster) about things we have no control over...what time the service starts, who is gay and who is not, who MIGHT be or COULD be.

Truth is, I have been in some situations where guys in the choir had on RAINBOW JEWELRY and were out in the hallway exchanging numbers!!!  Now THAT IS DISGUSTING!!!  To do what you do and THEN to have no more decency than to stand and do it in the House of God!?  WOW!  I got my keys and left!!!! 

Nobody held a gun to my head and made me stay somewhere that didn't agree with my spirit...

I feel what yall saying, but sometimes it is just plain obvious. When you hear that voice, you just know. I've heard many Straight men talk in a quiet kinda femineme voice . But I've  never heard a straight man talk with a gay accent. As a matter of fact , the new organist at my home church, has a very high pitched voice. He was born Like that and he cant help it. When he sings and preaches, he sounds like a woman  He says he is a counter tenor or something like that
which means he can sing super high notes. Is he gay? I dont know. He has a wife and kids, but so do many other gay men. But I cant worry myself, speculating what someones orientation is, I have my own issues to work out with God. I think we all focus too much on one sin, and act like others arent just as bad. We need to look at ourselves, instead of judging others. Like other sins, people can ovecome Homosexuality. Some of the people on this site are living proof of that

Sometimes I think it is OK to judge. If I plan on being friends with someone, I'm going to judge thier character before I become cool with them. I'm not gonna be seen hanging around homo or femineme Musicians. That would not be good for my career or my walk with God. I agree with what VT said, but I cant ignore the obvious signs. And looking and acting like Ru-Paul is a pretty obvious sign. Like others have said, now we have the "Homo-Thug" so it is sometimes impossible to tell.

This is why I have played at a concert/musical service, then packed up and left.  Even if I had the only drum kit there.  I got tired of people performing and not truly praising.  People wouldn't even get up until a certain group got on to perform, uh, I mean sing.  When so-and-so started, all of the sudden everybody felt the spirit.  Was it not here an hour ago?

Why do we always have to be out of order? Case in point: I went to a gospel choir concert this past weekend. Where I'm from gospel choirs are like street gangs. They have concerts so they can out-sing each other and they actually have rivalry and everything.

My spirit was grieved. I don't know about anyone else. I'm sure God was either laughing or even worse crying.

At least we got some dialogue going on the subject. It seems there's only one person who has a problem with what I said. I would be worried if everyone ignored the problem.

The truth is we're living in dangerous times. These are end times. Our youth and adults are dying and thinking they are going to heaven because they go to church and sing in the choir. Homosexuality is a spirit and not something to play with. If you let it linger it will take over. It's one thing which the "black" church allows so that we can have a great choir. I'm sorry, if that's what we have to put up with for a choir where everyone can "sang" then we just need to do without a choir. 

To ignore a boy with lip gloss on would be to ignore the obvious. Aids and black men on the down-low is a problem in the black community period whether they look the part or not. I know the difference between a boy/man who is effeminate for whatever reason and one who is OUT and in the choir. The line is thin. If he/she continues on that path in their youth and is hanging around that spirit it won't be long before they get caught up. Guess what? If there is a church with a lot of gay activity it's either because the pastor allows it there or they are part of it.  It's the pastor's job to watch over their flock and do some teaching on what the word says about it. What we have now is pastors who ignore it. Why? As I said, for the choir. If they need to take some service time to discuss, fornication, homosexuality, AIDS, the high rate of pregnancy, abortion then so be it. The funny thing is black people are generally homophobic in relation to whites but we'll allow it church and no one wants to talk about it.

Of course, we need sinners of all kinds to come to church but they need to be in a state of conversion. In fact, if the pastor aint right they need to sit down for a while too. Any spirit, like fornication, not just homosexuality, will run through the church and before you know it take over. It would be best if some of them sat down for a while and got some deliverance. We could also talk about the catholic church and priests molesting young boys but I was talking about that particular concert. If you don't live in New Orleans you can't really comment. Not that we have a corner on the market but, in some ways we do. Any city that allows for something like Mardi Gras is going to have some serious spirits lingering. People come here, act a fool, leave their mess here and go home and we are paying for it. We've got tons of churches - one on every corner - and tons of people going to hell.
