I WOULD LIKE TO POSE A QUESTION...
« on: March 03, 2008, 08:36:03 AM »
Let's just say... that I am someone you know...
Whether it be in passing or a closer relationship....
And some way shape or form you find out that I have been in a consistant sexual relationship with someone that I am not married to....
What would you do in response to what you learned?
Or would u do nothing and shrug your shoulders and keep it moving?

Seems like a dumb question but I promise I have a point

Not in my place to pass judgement on you. I might sid down and talk to you, but other than that I wouldn't stop all communications with you. Everyone does not life completely perfect in his sight!

I would minister to you once (maybe twice if there's something I forgot to say the first time around).

As a personal rule, I don't believe in beating people over the head with the Bible.  I hope that my life will say more than my words will.  I try to draw with lovingkindness, not with judgment or preaching with "enticing words."

And what I like most about me (lol)... I wouldn't look at you any differently.  You're just a woman who loves the Lord and hasn't put her flesh under subjection yet.

I wouldnt say anything. You know what you are doing is wrong, and you are a grown *** woman, its not my place to tell a grown woman what to do in her sex life, esp. when she already knows its wrong.

Everybody on this site knows somebody who is having sex out of wedlock, and I doubt most of them are going to confront all of thier friends and aquaintances and talk to them about how they are living in sin.
Maybe if I were thier spiritual mentor, then I would, but otherwise, I'd just get a bunch of screw faces from them.

U13, you made me realize a flaw in my answer.

For the record, my answer is for a saved person who is consistently having premarital sex.

If this friend of mine were unsaved, I wouldn't say anything.  Why would I expect an unsaved person to live according to the Bible?  I would just continue letting my light shine in front of her so that she may see my good works and glorifly God for herself.

Very interesting.  I wonder if someone was to poll the LGM family, would most of us have friends that were saved or mostly friends that were not saved.

I can answer that right now.... no poll necessary.  LOL

When I first started posting here, I made reference to the fact that one of my best friends is somewhere between atheist and agnostic.  Let's just say that wasn't well received around here.

It's cool, though.  She's still one of my best friends, and she's still somewhere between atheist and agnostic.

Seriously though, most people will probably admit to having an unsaved acquaintance.  It is what it is, man.  :-\

Has she always been atheist/agnostic? I forget whether you mentioned that or not.

For the record, who one hangs out with has really no bearing on that individual. Don't believe me; take a look at those who walked CLOSELY with Jesus.

I'll holla!

Now that I think about it, most of my friends aren't saved.  The majority of them do acknowledge a relationship of some sort with God (or a God) but don't subscribe to any particular organized religion.  They respect my beliefs and I respect theirs.

So you.... being in the body of Christ... would... as a mature spiritual individual ... apply GAL 6:1 "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted."

So is it safe to say... that out of love for the body of Christ... you would just remind me...even though I fell and know better, that what im doing is wrong and that God is has extended mercy to the believers and that I should repent and seek him for delieverence so that I can be victorious in my dealings with the spirit of lust.

For me it would matter if you're in ministry (in my Church) or not. If you are up on the stage every Sunday ministering then I would have a problem and say something to you. Or get the Pastors to deal with it... But if you are just a regular Jo then I leave it up to you and Jesus.

No, she used to be saved, sanctified, and Holy Ghost-filled.  But, I didn't know her then.  When I met her, she considered herself an atheist.  After a few conversations, I determined that she's more agnostic than atheist.

And as for that second paragraph: COSIGN.  ;)

So you.... being in the body of Christ... would... as a mature spiritual individual ... apply GAL 6:1 "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted."

I live, breathe, and eat Galatians 6:1.  I think it's my most-quoted verse.  So yeah, that's pretty much the approach I'd take.  I believe that if you are saved, then you already know you shouldn't be having pre-marital sex.  All you need from me is love, prayer, and encouragement.  If you intend to continue having sex with this dude, I'm not going to continue to preach to you.  I'll share with you one time, and leave you in God's hands.

Shrug and keep it moving.  That is between you, that person, and God.

so no one other than Larue would love me enough to pray for me or pick me up and remind me of my place in God... whether i know better or not .... i still live in this flesh... even paul said when he would do good evil is present... so that says salvation doesnt eliminate problems...but it gives u a solution and that no one can walk a perfect walk. And to remind me that inspite of what ive done... i can be restored... and turn away and the Lords love is still continual...

Thats sad... When did the body become so cold.... Remember... Our righteousness is as flithy rags .... so even if you are not in THAT postion... u are doing SOMETHING that is displeasing God... even if its just not getting to church on time...
