When I took Evangelism, we learned a format to pray in. Of course you pray however the spirit leads you to... But a lot of people at church did not know how to start or end prayer. Sometimes they didnt know what to pray for... lots of issues, but I think It was in a book entitled Milk of the Word, by Pastor Wilkins out of Texas mentions this way to pray. I think its great.

Still learning what to pray for.

I assume you were referring to the statement people use "I know how to get a prayer through." From what I see when people use that term they are saying they prayed until they felt a release in their spirit.

The concept is the same but we all use different methods and modes of praying hoping to achieve the same results. I agree with Larue and the Word. When you have been reading and studying the Word that's when the right things seem to come out in what to pray.

The Bible tells us that we don't know what to pray for as we ought, so the spirit makes intercession for us with groanings that cannot be uttered.
