...do you think its okay to buy boot-leg videos?

I see nothing wrong with it.

Bootleggin..Is wrong...lol

EXACTLY, bootleggin is wrong, not buying from a bootlegger.  That's like saying it's wrong to spend drug money that you acquired from a family member.  You didn't sell the drugs to get it, it was given to u as a gift.  Why not spend it?  It spend just like regular legal money, LOL.

Buying from a bootlegger is against the law, and it indirectly takes money from the hands of those who worked hard to create the product.

To say that bootlegging is wrong, but buying from that bootlegger isn't, is like saying that selling drugs is wrong, but buying them to give to someone else is ok.  If we weren't standing in line to buy from these bootleggers, they wouldn't be bootlegging.  We make it profitable for them. We enable them.  We give them what they need (customers) to be successful at wrongdoing.  We're accessories to wrongdoing, which makes us wrong.  (Well, not "us" because I don't do that).

And there's nothing wrong with that?

Wow.

I believe bootlegging or buying bootleg is wrong, and it's been difficult for me to mend my ways.  My friends, choir directors, even pastor's wife, all want me to burn stuff, so my refusal strikes them as odd and sometimes makes them angry that I won't do it.

Not to mention, a friend of mine gave me photoshop, MS Office 2007 and some other real nice programs when he was working for a certain company, before I made this change.  I still use the programs, but when I get ready to get a new laptop or upgrade, all of that is coming out of my pocket, because when I sat down and thought about it, I cannot justify being saved and getting the illegal hook up on stuff.  I have started paying for and downloading songs from amazon instead of buying the whole CD.

TOTAL COSIGN, Nessa.

I totally agree, and I catch a lot of flak from my friends about it as well.  They really take it as a joke, like "Oh come on, are you serious???  You can't burn one little CD for me???"  And I'm like,  :-\.....  :-\......  :-\.......  :-\........ NO.  I can't.  :-\

Yea, I'm REALLY workin' on NOT burnin' CDs. When I was MOM, I was notorious for doing it to "help" out the praise team and the choir.

Question:

What about watching (not purchasing) a just released (for ex. 10,000 BC) movie online?

I would guess that if it's lawfully provided, then it's okay.

I don't really know how that whole thing works, though.  I've never watched a movie online and I rarely watch movies OFFline... lol.

While downloading them is illegal, I don't think streaming them is. I don't see how sites such as alluc.org could still operate if it was.

So, the problem is the purchasing/buying?

Why would one want to watch a movie on a 17" screen, anyway.  ?/? :-\

1. Yes, it is wrong 2. But, no one told man to sell DVD burners, DVD-R's, DVD-RW's or software or websites to dubb these movies.
I blame it on whomever begin this whole thing?...Don't know
I seldom buy 1 Just one I usually WAIT UNTIL IT COME TO THE REDBOX (meaning $1.00 a night movie)

It clearly says IT'S AGAINST THE LAW!!!!

lol, I ain't got it, but the friend that hooked me up has it, I don't know if he paid for it or not... but it's cool because you can hook up to your TV and it's kinda got a Tivo thing and then you can watch what's on your computer on the big screen.  There's also a special remote that you can use as a wireless mouse.  It's pretty cool stuff.  To expensive for me and I probably wouldn't use it a whole lot.
