amp heads and cabs with different ohms
« on: March 11, 2008, 05:22:49 PM »
i have a SWR WorkingPro 2x10 200watts (8ohms) and lm thinking about getting the Eden WTX-260  260-300watts(4ohms). with both being different ohms, would that effect the output or cause a problem? could i still get the max of both? the i want the eden because of it pocket size. i'm tried of lugging my current head around. :-\. i tired to search the suject, i saw something similar with combining cab with different ohms.

I have been researching the same questions.  According to the Eden website the WTX-260 gets 260 watts at 4 ohms but only 180 watts at 8 ohms.  This should not be a problem for a cab that gets 200 watts at 8 ohms.

Hope this helps.

You won't have a problem at all. I'm thinking about getting that head and the 210 xst for small gigs. It packs a mighty big punch for it's size. I played that setup at Samash and had the store rocking.
Keep God first and he'll do the rest!!!

thanks for the response. my peavey T-max head is pushing 500watts@2ohms, 350 @4ohms, and 200@8ohms, my swr cab is 8ohms. so i will getting about the same results with the Eden WTX-260. i don't think 20watts would make a different.
