It's time to pray, folks! I got a call from one of the actors who was in my play last August. She has been working with this church that is 3 years old with a 6-member praise team and no choir. Their former musician couldn't deal with the "smallness" of their church and left them so SHE told their pastor about ME and HE wants me to come out and teach them some songs at their rehearsal Friday night. If all goes well, I'll be their new musician. This past Sunday, the director of our male chorus sat out because he just had a surgical procedure done on his leg. I stood in and directed (for old time's sake) and even ended up singing a song. It was cool! Now, I feel like I may be getting ready to "branch out" and do something different....kinda scary, but possibly a much-needed experience. Who knows?
The Pastor says that they do mostly praise and worship songs....which is basically what my children's choir does at my church. I've even written a couple, so it should be cool. I just wonder if I'm ready? Sharon and Marvin did all this encouraging in Memphis....now it's time to see if the Pastor and Praise Team will see the same potential that you guys saw at the hotel that night.
Either way, it will be a bittersweet moment, so keep me in your prayers guys.
