What do u do when someone sings a song u dont know?

Don't play man.  Be professional about it tho and listen to them and try to pick them up on the vamp at the end or something if you can.  But if you can't get it at all don't play.

I simply dont play. There is no point in making yourself as well as the soloist look bad.

Hey, i'd say it depends on where you are in your playing, if your not at the level where you can flow to random songs then i'd definantly suggest not playing especialy if your in an environment where you feel by not playing the song the way it is, it would spoil the ministration.But most songs u can flow with at a certain point which im still trying to get to, untill then, practice prctice lol

well first of all before i ever played the keyboard i just had a ear for music so i didnt know chord progression and even now on songs i can find the key ther'e in so i just follow along with them & they seem satisfied,also to be honest iv'e just learned chord progression so thats why im here to get better everyday.

I dont like to play something i dont know but my pastor want me to at lease try and follow them, but the sad thing to that is when you are trying to follow the singer they will sometimes look at you like u dont know what u are doing or they will wave their hand for u to stop. I dont know about u all but to me that is putting me on blast because to the congregation it looks like u dont know what u r doing. I dont see how people what u to play a song like the tape when u never heard it before....so if any one have any tips for me please help a brother out.

well since i have good ear, everytime i hear an unfamiliar song, i would just follow along.
