See that is the sad thing. Our two cultures should come together and encourage one another and strengthen one another. Instead we misunderstand and harbor a mutual lack of trust towards each other. Africans look down on AAs cuz they feel there is no excuse and that they are just lazy. AAs will look down on Africans cuz they feel we are too uppity and are no better than some jungle savage.
I cannot tell you the number of times i have been asked if i have beds in Africa or if i see a lion on y way to school in Nigeria.
LOL on a side note there are 2 completely parallel conversations going on in this thread. My fault really.
I pick with Africans about the lion thing, just because I know the answer! LOL! At first though....
Some of my church members have gotten into fights with Americans over these disagreements. Usually, it was an American that started it. They'll call the African "jungle" something, and then it's on. Out comes the machete!

I just start laughing! You can see the determination in their eyes, these dudes start getting physically upset again. I remember one lady sat outside our church just to fight another lady because she had said something wrong to her during service....but this happens with African Americans too.
I was surprised that they told me it's rare to see a gun in Nigeria. The Nigerians are the crazy ones with guns. When I say I want to visit South Africa, they say "Ham Mercy! You will get shot, now!" But anyway.
There are two different discussions going on. But you guys crack me up! I can't wait to see how it REALLY goes down, when we move to Africa in a few years. I know you guys are holding back on me!
