Old stuff from LA Music Academy... Vinnie rippin' on a 5 piece Yam (basic cymbal setup) with a couple of guys from the Yellow Jackets.

Forgive me, but I can't say the words on the board that I said when I watched this clip.  The Yellowjackets without Will, or Marcus, or Bob Mintzer.  Just killin.  Jimmy is nice on the bass and the keys are just in the pocket.  Vinnie.... Don't make me curse again....

Vinnie for President in '08.  He is my write-in candidate.

Period.

WOW! Is all I can say right now...each one of those dudes have inspired me musically at one point or another in my life and they continue to do so. I was just listening to that Jaco Big Band Revisited CD the other day with Jimmy,Richard Bona, Marcus, Vic and other bassists killing it. Vinnie is in a world of his own!

God Bless

Yes. It is what Vinnie always plays in the Yamaha line. The long long casings are the give-a-way. The snare is a nouvou lug, probably the Birch Absolute (same shell as the Recording Custom).

I dont like Vinnie's approach to this music.  He's too busy...too much fusion...he should've laid back more.  He's still the man though!
