Honestly, I thought it was pretty dumb, too (I had chosen the word "ignorant"), but then on second thought, I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking that perhaps that IS the case in So. Africa??? 
I mean... it really is about the dumbest thing I've read in a long time... I feel the sudden need to go read an encyclopedia or something to apologize to my brain...
At first, I, too, was going to leave it alone, just for the sake of leaving it alone. But, it was just sooooo out of place, for me.
As for apologizing to my brain, I'll do a quick Sudoku (sp) puzzle and be done.
