Resurrection Day Service
« on: March 23, 2008, 06:26:04 PM »
Oh... My... God... Almighty.

I wish I could describe it to you guys, but words just don't do it justice.  It started like any other service and while it was a good service, I just had a lot on my mind as I have for a while now.  I've been struggling because I followed God's direction to the place where I am, but at some point along the way I let too many distractions in, that have caused me to find myself off course once again (if that made any sense to anyone but me, lol)

Anyway, I sat through almost the whole service, running the projector, and during/after communion I had to play drums because our main drummer was serving as part of the communion ministry.  Anyway, service is almost over, and the Pastor's Wife had been singing during communion, and continued as though she was going to close out the service, and all of a sudden, the Holy Ghost began to move!  I knew God was doing something, but I didn't feel him.  Have you ever been in the midst of a service and God is moving all around you and you feel disconnected?  I was like NO! God, you know I need you today, I can't leave the way I came...

So the first lady all of a sudden says, some of you need to come and leave some stuff at the altar..." or something.  I didn't hesitate, I left the drums and went straight to the altar, just raised my hands and started bawling.  Oh my God,  I can't really explain how I felt, but I started crying out to God with all that was in me.  I couldn't control my hands, they were just shaking and all I kept telling God was, "Yes Lord, I'll do it Your way."  I lost all inhibitions, and lost sight of the packed house on Easter Sunday, lol.  All I knew was that I needed God to do something for me today, and he did.  I felt the weight lift off my shoulders, all I could do was cry, because I kept thinking about how good God is to me.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my abbreviated testimony about the goodness of the Lord.

Y'all holla if you have testimonies from today's services...  Pray my skrunff, lol!

Well all I gotta say is my pastor broke down the "Alabaster Box" scripture like Ive never heard.  During the whole sermon I was like, whoaaaaaaa.  A few points were: 1.  He talked about how the woman knew she had to anoint Jesus on THAT night.  Usually, you anoint the body after its dead, but because of the times she knew that couldnt happen.  Mainly because the next day he would be tried and crucified (Good Friday), on the next day (Sat) the Jews dont anoint because its the sabbath, and the Third day (well you know)  ;).  Another point was he asked the question "Why would she anoint Jesus while He was alive, seeing as that is something reserved for the dead?".  He begin to break down that the reason they anointed the dead was to preserve the dead body, so she anointed the living Jesus...Whew!  Im tellin you.  I dont even do it justice.  We had a wonderful service!
Praise Him!

Nessa, that blessed me!!!!  I'm rejoicing with you, sis.  So glad you got what you needed, and so glad He's STILLLLL faithful to meet our every need.  Lord knows I've had a few of those services where the Holy Ghost just seems to be moving on everybody but me... lol.  You look around and folks are dropping like flies, and you're standing there like, Ooooh, I want some...  :( :-\ :-[ :'(  LOL!  I've also had my moments of desperation where I'm just like, Lord, I CANNOT leave here like I came.  I will not let go until you bless me... if we gotsta rassle (int) all night long!!!!!   :D :D :D :D

I'm glad you got what you needed, sis!  To God be the glory!!

Now I'm kinda wishing I had gone to somebody's church this weekend... lol...  :-\

Girl, you know you gots ta go on Eeeestuh, LOL!

Naw, but your right, Rue... God is faithful, and I must admit that sometimes I just fail to press in and command my mind and my body to get in line in order to really get from God all that he has for me in a particular service.  We get so weighed down with some of this and that... if we (or I) could only realize what a privilege it is to come before God for the express purpose of worshipping and magnifying his name.  He's more than worthy of it.

Easter service at our church wasn't that great to me.  There were some great things that happened during the service, but as a whole it was just aiight.  Scale of 1-10 I give it a 6 1/2.  :(
