Have we ever taken the time to find out why these particular groups strive
?
They strive because it is geared towards helping, healing and overcoming
These programs have programs in place to help if someone should fall and they have a number for you to call should you get the urge to do it again
Should you fall off
you do have to start all over again
but guess what they dont leave you to fight for yourself
They receive you with open arms and the same support you had from the beginning
Why does this work? How does it work? Better yet, How can we get this kind of support from within the Church
Answer simple
Humble yourself
We ALL can use a refresher course in Humbling ourselves
IF you think about it, this COULD work in the church IF everyone would be on one accord and stop having their own agenda
My uncle has been with AA for about 7, 8 years now
and we are so proud of him
He is doing something positive and he wouldnt have been able to do it without the support of the family
as well as the family group within AA
It is VERY hard for someone to talk about their problems
Especially if they themselves are embarrassed about it
So when a person opens up to confess/reveal/testify give them the support they need
Dont shut them down because they messed up again
Help them get back up
Now I am not suggesting that you help until you are in a rut but help with kind words, kind gestures.. Or even a How are you doing?
Youd be surprised at how much of a difference it makes
