Can you define it, first?

I'm not sure whether you're asking if using the phrase "slain" is Biblical, or whether you're asking whether actually being "slain" is Biblical...

And it might help to know what you mean by "slain" anyway... usually when I hear people use that phrase, it doesn't imply that they were unconscious, but that they fell to the floor under the power of the Holy Ghost (or that they fell out laughing).  :)

I DON'T REALLY THINK IT IMPLIES TO BEING SLAIN. BUT, RATHER THE FILLINGS, OR BEING FILLED WITH THE POWER THE ENDOWING, WHERE YOU DIE IN SPIRIT TO BE FILLED ,ALIVE,AND RENEWED BY GOD'S SPIRIT.
IF, IT AIN'T IN THE WORD, IT'S NOT OF GOD!

I think those sorts of "essays" or commentaries tend to be published by religious people who have nothing better to do... I mean... what exactly are they implying, that if you fall backwards you're not under the power of the HG, but if you fall face first, you are??

For the record, I've never been "slain," but I have used the phrase before.

cosign, esp on the backwards forwards issue. Who thinks these things up?

And to add, why wouldn't it be biblical, face first or last.

"So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD." - 1Kings8:11

"So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God." - 2Chron5:14

Some people have told me they were slain and saw visions. I was slain before as being knocked to the floor. My pastor years ago was praying for everyone. For whatever reason he prayed for the sisters then the brothers. As he came down the aisle praying for the brothers everybody was falling out. :D  I thought that was strange it looked like dominoes. When he got to me I fell to the floor to like someone knocked me down. I was still conscious though but it was almost like I couldn't get up. I didn't see any visions. :D
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.

I personally never "fell out". Always wondered about it, just like the "spiritual laughter" thing.  Awww who knows.  It's many things we do in church because of emotions and other things that aint in the book specifically.

I was going to post those same scripture.

I have come to the point where the glory of God was so great that I could no longer stand, or as the contemporary term says, I have been slain. For me it's like an out of body experience.

I have laughed in the spirit too. I think some people take it to the extreme just like many things in church. A brother and I were praying in the prayer room years ago. After prayer he he said "We have the victory and the devil can't do anything about it." All of a sudden we just started laughing and laughing. One of those gut busting laughs but there was joy with it. I believe God will make you laugh at the devil. Another time I had a car that I just kept having problems with. I was always losing money trying to keep it up. I was mad and disgusted praying to the Lord trying to fix it. All of a sudden I just started laughing at my problem. I think this was the first time it happened. After that problems with the car didn't brother me anymore I just knew God was going to work it out. I have laughed in the Spirit a few times. I think I need to laugh some more. :D

I was talking to another saints before that did not believe certain things God did but you never know until it happens to you. ;D
