Searching in Md for Lead guitarist
« on: April 10, 2008, 08:29:51 PM »
An out reach music ministry in Maryland is looking for a lead guitar player.  Someone that plays for God's glory and not their own. Some one that loves to play for the Lord and not for money.  Someone that want's to be apart of a united body that's striving to reach lost souls by way of sharing the gospel through music and message.  We practice in District Heights Md.

Thanks for responding, for a second I didn't think there were any guitar players from Md, in here but besides myself.  Hey Spoon, that's for being willing to sit in with us.  I just wanted to let you know that we're all from different churches in this group, it's something we do outside of our praise and worship teams at our individual churches.  We basically go to nursing homes and play for sick and shut in folks who can't get out to church.  The lead guitarist we have in the group is also a pastor at his church, so he brings them a short message at the end of our set.
Anyway, the lead guitarist is in the process of building a church building so he have to be away from the group for 6 months or longer.  I'm asking that everyone keep New Life Christian Church from Clinton, Md. in your prayers.  They've been with out a church building for a few months now.

...wow...I wish I was there...I used to be in a group that did that...I believe that is why I am so blessed today.
Reaching out to others with no concern for money...just going and bringing it...I think it thrills God to see his people reach out like that.

Prody,

Why are they without a church? I mean, what caused them to need to build?

Are they still located across from Checkers in Clinton on that 'lil access road off Woodyard Rd.?

I play guitar for a church one exit down Rt. 5 (toward Beltway) off Old Alexander Ferry Road.

New Life was renting the building they were in for some years now, but always had a vision of owning their own church building.  So, when the landlord doubled the rent on them, they decided it was time to find something they can call their own.  Right now they're having Sunday service at some community center while they continue to work on finding land, financing, legal stuff etc.  I spoke the the pastor the other day (a good friend of mine and our lead guitarist) and want to be kept lifted up in prayer because he's been having a hard time with keep members active with having a regular place to meet.  They have bible study at memeber's houses and have their praise team rehursals Sunday morning before service  (while they have a place to practice)

Where is the church on Alexandria Ferry Rd. that you play at?

Uriah, you wouldn't believe....one outting we had in Baltimore (which is about 45 mins. from where I live) there was a lady there, that was 90 years old.  She sat right up front, and when we were between songs, she asked if she could say something?  Man, this  woman thanked us for being there, she said family and friends put them in these ol' folks homes, rehabs. etc. and forget about them.  So told us we where angels sent by God himself!  Now, my equipment cost thousands of dollars, and learning and putting them songs together too some time, but to be called angels sent by God....now that's priceless!  ;D
