Video Tips
« on: May 26, 2008, 06:20:16 AM »
I posted a couple video tips on YouTube, based on requests that are just laying around in the chord request section.  I figured that rather than taking the time to tab or chart some of these songs, seeing them played and the note construction explained is a simpler learning tool.

So, here goes.....let me know what you think.  If they are useful, I'll stick a few more out

Faithful Is Our God

Grateful

Both of these, ironically, are Hez Walker songs.

Peace,

James

Thank so much for the "Grateful" post.  I learned it from the sheet music but you showed me some things the sheet music does not provide.

Thanks malthumb for the videos. You can really hear the differences in the sounds of the two basses. Are you playing them through the same amp and is your amp Eq set the same?
Vision without action is just day dreaming. I miss practicing.

The amp is the same, but the volume and EQ are very different.  I'm trying to figure out how far I can push the volume before my iMovie program distorts the sound.  I was running a lot more output for the "Faithful Is Our God" video than I was for the "Grateful" video.  Had to dial it back a bit on "Faithful..." but was probably running too low for "Grateful".  I am playing through a Crate BX-50 located about 5 ft to my right.

I'll probably go back through all the stuff that I have tabbed and charted before and post a link to a video walk-through.

Peace,

James
