Leslie Switch

Ok thanks, that makes it the mod wheel
Some boards do come with the digital drawbar settings, but 1 can also make use of the mod wheel in them if they have.

This is why I probably won't use my Roland for organ because the modulation turns off when you take your hand off the lever.

wich roland do you have? my xp does the same thing, but the modulation sounds crappy anyway. I think the roalnd RD's have proper slow/fast modulation

I have the Juno-G.  With the Extreme Keys expansion card, the organs are just a bit better than the stock sounds but they still kinda suck.

yeah I know.  I reallly didn't buy it for organ sounds but it would have been nice.  It has some good synths, good bass, nice rhodes/EPs, and decent brass, oh and it also samples and has a sequencer so I can't complain.

I remember when I was guilty of over using the Leslie switch... BTW, the MO8 has some phat organ sounds and it has slidders and a modulation switch. Thanks U13 for introducing me to this great board.

Does it matter what settings you have your organ on to use the Leslie switch, because on the C3 at my church when you flip the switch to Chorale or Tremolo it doesn't change.

Nope, the settings dont matter. Make the leslie as well as the switches are connected properly. If it still doesent work, call your tech and have him (or her) service it

Those leslie switches with the white knobs break easy. I know a dude that went to radio shack and bought a flip switch to turn the leslie on and off. Hey is worked.

yo Marcus-that's why you need a FOOTSWITCH  for leslie fast/slow!!! shame on me ;also;that's where my voce v3 comes in handy,1 rack space,great sound 4 lbs(maybe 5 in the rack)

OVERUSE OF THE LESLIE SWITCH??

I'd imagine similar to others of you, as a younger player 1. when nervous in front of large crowds 2. with a unfamiliar song 3. a key that I was uncomfy with....you can bank that that I would hit that switch 50 times a minute, let alone the 50 times a song,as previously mentioned.  But today it still kinda irks me to see seasoned players hitting the switch without purpose...to often I see guys switching back to fast, without even letting it get to slow, nervous habit I guess

On my live recording rig, I've recently switched to using a one speed leslie (model 45), and I love it, because by the time you hit the fast switch, after a pronounced time of being off, it has such a sweet effect.  Thank you Don & Bob

It's not nerves or anything else for me. I just switch a lot because I like the sound. I switch from chorale to tremolo then back again because I like the transition. I usually stay in chorale longer than I do tremolo.

I also like on the single speed Leslies how the rotors are both completely stopped and you switch to tremolo. It has a nice effect.

The above is understandable, I was referring more to those who switch withoug leaving even time for the transitioning, such an immediate switching that the motors have not fully engaged, or disengaged.  The only difference in sound is the clicking of the organist fingers against the switch.  I very much enjoy seeing a player who understands the use of drawbars, and switching for effect operate the hammond, it truly is an art
