Im not hating man, I really do feel he's over rated. Modern Drummer hyped him up like if he was some new drum phenom...I have the dvd that clip is from and I was really disappointed that I spent the money on it.

I agree man. His DVD wasn't his greatest for sure.

His dvd overall was lackluster. I really appreciate his musical sense. He clearly would not have been on the PRINCE gig if he was not any good. MD did do a good job of hyping him. I can't front. I used to be a HUGE Johnny B-well fan. I really liked his approach to the music and thought that it was hot.

DH. BBD isnt necessasarilly hating, he just doesnt like what he does. Its a matter of preference.

I might get drilled for saying this but it is only my opinion.. I do like John as a person and as a drummer, but I am very much a different player and because of that I am not the biggest fan of playing so over the top that sloppiness occurs, and I find that the case with him and others... I base everything I do on playing very, very, clean. That is one of the biggest aspects of my drumming that I am known for. As far as John's dvd, I thought it was very good "musically" and for having the courage to put it out there, I think one of the problems that he and most people have is that they seem to think that being a natural born player makes you a natural born teacher, and that is very much not the case from my experience.

At the time of that DVD/Modern Drummer Fest appearance it was called EMAD.... (and kick like a mule).

He has since switched to REMO... not sure of his head choice... PowerStroke 3 I am guessing but now could be the PowerSonic.

You can generalise something like that. If a drummer is practising correctly anything over the top should be dead on and tight and sharp!!

Eric Moore is a super jerk! I don't care if im not on "your level" of playing but honestly what you've been doing on here proves that you ain't really humble or a dude tryin to help anybody out. BBD aka Curtis Bernard is actually a dude tryin to help people out! Heck, He's always replied to my emails, given me excellent advice via phone, gave me instructional videos to learn from (Rick Latham's Advance Funk Studies and Steve Smith's History of the U.S. Beat/Drum set Technique). Eric you are Arrogant and Super cocky! Excellent qualities for a child of the KING to possess!
