Actually I came up with a melody starting with the Eb to Db to A then Ab......Now would I be in the key of Ab or Eb........Also I have another scale that i thought would work its a Jewish Scale.

Key Of Ab (Scale)

Ab, A, C, Db, Eb, E, F#

Intervals are 1, b2, 3, 4, 5, b6, b7

Please help

Jewish scale also Known as the Spanish scale would word on any Major(b9) Chord for example:

Ab7(b9) - Ab   Bbb(A)   C    Db   Eb    Fb    Gb     Ab
I     bII       III    IV    V    bVI   bVII    I

Eb Locrian Scale is used when your chord is half diminished  I - bIII - bV - bVII  (Eb - Gb - Bbb - Db) = EbØ
Eb     Fb     Gb     Ab     Bbb     Cb    Db       Eb
I       bII     bIII    IV      bV     bVI    bVII     I

Db Melodic Minor Descending is a Db natural minor scale.  It is very seldom used because in truth it is a boring scale.  Try using the Db dorian scale instead or the Db phrygian if you want to add a bit of spice.

If you HAVE to play this particular scale :) it is played over a Db-(b6)

Hope this helps...

That would depend on you really.  I just went off what infor, ation you provided which was that particular scale therefore that was the chord that went with it.  If you change the scale, you will have to change the chord as well and visa versa.

If you go to the jazz forum here and then click on the Intermediate Jazz area, there is a scale syllabys there that will tell you how to construct your scales to your chords you want to play.  :o)

B7 for either I'd say.  Depends what chord you're coming from.
