Yeah! this one hit me hard! :'( when i was young drummer growing up in Detroit, my church use to go over to Penicostal Temple for musicals and i will never forget hearing this guy on the drums with such fast hands and feet! i was so amazed as a little boy, and then the time came for me to get up on the set and when i played, i found myself trying to do the double stroke rolls that david did, then we started playing shouting music, and david and some other guys had gathered around the set ! Ill never forget those days, but after that David Modock had became my favorite drummer! this was before i knew about Dana Davis and all the other greats from the "D". David was the one who showed me how to have a quick foot and showed me how to do double stroke rolls! I mean he was the quickest i ever saw at the time. The last time i saw david was at the age of 13yrs old when i was at Ron Winans family and freinds 4! at the end of the recording he saw me and said (" U need to give me a call so i can start training u for Recordings") shortly after that i move to St. louis and was hurt because David was going to take me under his wing :'( Ive been trying to get intouch with him 4 the past few years now when i when back to Detroit and even tried to get hits info, but my cuzzin text me yesterday telling me he had got a call the David Modock had past away! i couldnt believe it! Yall! im sorry this comment was so long, but this man played a BiG part in the drummer ive become 2day! And i never got to tell him so! :'( R.I.P David Modock and may GOD give his fam peace that passes all understanding!
