I GOTTA PROBLEM

OK so i have to ask, seeing as i have never been near a real organ. How do you play with your foot? Is there like some giant keyboard down there that you press with your foot?

I havent even really gotten into the pedals yet. My problem isnt really coordination, but finding the correct note that corresponds to the chords I'm playing.

After doing it for a while, it becomes second nature.  I really don't even think about playing the pedals anymore, it just happens.  What's odd is sometimes I find myself moving my left foot while playing a keyboard.

yo if u can play a hammond or yamaha or wateva organ can u play like a pipe organ????? like da one u c in da catholic churchez.........cuz thoze thingz scare me.......i give major propz 2 anybody who can play thoze....even tho i aint a big fan of catholic hymnz i still gotz 2 give propz 2 thoze musicianz.....

I play pipe organ. Its really not that hard. It may look intimdating because of all the stops and what not, but its not that bad. A lot easier than the hammond

Basically thats exactly what it is. I love playing the organ now that I'm getting the hang of it.

Good Job Under13. Doc, that was r write. I am strictly a Hammond Organist. To me that pipe organ seems more challenging than the Hammond. When time permits, I hope that you can share  a few tips on how to play the pipe organ if you dont mind.

You may as well. You dont have to be a site reader or a pro, but you should try to get on a level where you can at least learn a hymn from the book. If you have the right teacher and you practice diligantly, you should be good at reading within a few months.

As a church musician, You should always strive to be as diverse as possible

I'd learn a little of both, but ear will benefit u more when the sheet music runs out.
